Nautica

I'm no coast guard.

I love going to the beach, I love the feeling the soft sand on my feet, drowning in the cool waters and the taste and smell of the salty breeze. I am also fond collecting shells and coral stones. Well I just had a nice love affair with the beach somehow but below is a different story.
I decided I'd pull off a nautical inspired look.
What makes this shirt so unique is the perforated design all over it. I have never seen anything like it before. I love how the holes are just the right distance from each other making it look like a lace from afar. And that fading carbon drawing of the anchor, it makes it look vintage adding more sophistication to the look. Those sky-blue stripes in the background that are just the right shade to complement the dark print and those little copper stars below the shoulders perfectly matching with the rustic anchor on my black pearl bracelet. To finish up the look and to add a little bit playfulness to this Seawoman look, a royal blue studded sling bag and a pair of tri-colored flats will do. Ay, ay Captain!

Femme

the first denim trousers were made in Genoa, Italy (GĂȘnes).
however, denim initially gained popularity in 1873 when, Jacob Davis, a tailor from Nevada, manufactured the first pair of “rivet-reinforced” denim pants. His concept for making reinforced jeans was inspired when a lady customer requested a pair of durable and strong pants for her husband to chop wood. Davis was overwhelmed with the demand of denim jeans. He soon sold 200 pairs to workers in need of heavy work clothing and the demand came out hand that Davis made a deal with Levi Strauss and Co. (manufacturer of denim linen) to patent his copyright to manufature denim jeans thus, in large quantities.
Basically, denim pertains to masculinity but in the 60s, old denim jeans were recycled into long denim skirts, by opening the inseams, and inserting pieces of triangular denim (or any other fabric) in the front.
Nowadays, denim had been massively worn unisexually in any form of classification, jeans for men and women, jackets, skirts, so on and so forth.. But to obtain a more feminine look on denim, Ray Cassini, an italian designer tailored a denim dress adding it with a touch of lace ...because reflecting to what mayo says, lace for one good reason it enlivens an otherwise slightly boring black, plain & other grumpy colors.

Constant Change

For this past week, i have been so excessively obbessed (literally rendundated) like going all-crazy for lace, knits, canvas and pearls. i cant get myself to sleep at nights (and in rare times when i could get so exhausted, id fall asleep and dream about these things). I had hardly waited for the week to end (even if it was just a tuesday when this whole obbssession thing begun) to hunt down to feed my new obbsession. last week and for so long ago i remember, i was getting out of interest dressing myself up just because (when i say "just because" i mean for 1 reason only) my body is inflating day by day that my favorite clothes (sigh) couldnt fit on me. So for quite some time now, i settle pulling off into slouchy clothes like oversized tees, baggy dresses and almost-everything-black so to disguise my inflating body. but you see, the only constant thing in this world is " change ".

finally, the weekend has come and i can conquer the world!
i just got from my fave thrift shop downtown and i can barely wait to show you a preview of my new finds. dont be surprised, most of them are so classic and old-fashioned. thats actually a literal definition of me. Just like i have always said, i am a vintage-kind of person. however, as modern world we live in, we must blend in but not too hard though you might just camouflage with the others.
be different, coz to what i always believe in, normal is boring.
so i opt mixing vintage with modern fashion (thats just a teaser :-P)..i cant wait to be posting outfit ideas of these new ones i got. check out the preview below...heee yaaa!!

Mixing n' Matching

For almost a decade now, I have been following a few of my favorite fashion bloggers. I have a long list of them but to whom I mostly follow, let me mention a few of them like Mayo Wo of Hong Kong, Andy Torres of Amsterdam, Chloe Ting of Sydney and our very own local bloggers Camille Co, Kryz Uy and Tricia Gosingtian. Everytime I browse over their blogs, as helpless as I can be, there's nothing more I can do but envy them to the highest level (teary eyes). At their very young age, they have already made so much success and accomplishments.
Well, for me,  I have always been a fascinated with fashion. I admit, I am a self-confessed fashion enthusiast in my own little world (starry eyes *_*). But thankful as I am now to the world of technology, being able to follow these fashion-minded people fuels my desire to the fashion world and urges me more to push through my dreams. Who knows, one day I will make a successful designer and I might be the one designing your wedding dress (looking afar up to the stars)!

I could still remember when I was younger, my mamma always dresses me up like a doll. She mostly puts on me colorful balloony skirts and mix-n-match 'em with printed blouses (as far as i can remember). Thanks to Ma coz to that, it simply shaped and broadened my fashion mentality to a totally different dimension of the modern fashion world.

As posted above, I love mixing n' matching old garments too. This outfit I pulled off from my ancient closet have been hiding in for quite a while already. Im totally good in taking care of things.
Just about these past few days, I have been so inlove with laces and crochets, but I haven't find the time really nowadays to work on this blog again because of a night job that really kept me so contained.

Excuse me for my fat@**, I have recently gained so much weight these past months. I am the type of person that balloons right away when things get out of hand and I have too much to eat (i might want to talk about my diet one of these days but that's not something I am in the mood to talk about just yet). And nevertheless, please excuse me for some totally disgrunted photos. I am using my fone to take these pictures and my room doesn't have the best lighting. Hmmh, why am I even expaining?
