A Confession of a Pinkaholic

Every girl's confidante is anything pink. It's like a girl's bestfriend. You think everything goes out well when you pull off any shades of pink. Well I guess for most. And you must be right because I, myself must be one of those.
It was just a ordinary day when I realized I was a Pinkaholic! One day, I browsed through my beloveds in the closet to check what to wear on a typical day-out-with-friends only to find massive shades of  pink were mostly hanging from the hangers. At first I stared blankly at the closet wondering how did so much pink stuff got there in the first place. Then I smiled to myself. I thought - "Ok that's it! I'm a certified Pinkaholic!", giggling a little bit.You know the feeling when you had so much of something for so long then you just realized you had so much of it just right about that moment? Come on, girls will be girls! When you go malling with friends, first that catches a girl's heart is something pink.
Well for me, I am still in the state where in I feed my addiction and unstoppable.

What's your addiction? I would really appreciate if you could share your thoughts in the comment box below.

Hey ya!

Nude photos of my newly purchased Miu Miu peep toe pumps. I got this pair a few weeks ago but havent really found the time to blog about it. I got this from a Thrift shop downtown that i dont usually hang around at. Surprisingly, their stuff are so affordable and just so heartbreaking not to grab something before leaving.

I'm an addict

Ribbons and Lace, Knits and Crochets, Pearls and Studs, Sheer and Canvas, Pastel and color blocking. These things are few of my love affair. Vintage yet modern.
Things with feminine touches are so alluring and just too hard to resist.
I have always wanted to relive the Fashion world in the 50s and 60s.
Simple and modest. Conservative yet playful.
Because modern is the definition of the world today, we hardly find vintage fashion line elsewhere.
But as the saying goes "find and you shall seek", it takes a lot of patience to finally find what you really are looking for. But for me, it didn't take me long to finally capture my fashion haven where vintage fashion has never run out of style. If you're thinking of an expensive designer clothing or high-end botiques, I must stop you right there. Hey, a mom like me can't afford those designer labels, these are just  way beyond my reach.
It's just a Thrift Shop I am talking about. I never realized then how much investment you find in thrift shops. In this such little town, no way you can't find a thrift shop in every corner.
Everything is so affordable yet not compromising the quality. And what's even better when you buy your clothes from Thrift shops is that you won't have anything alike (clap! clap! clap!). You know that feeling when somebody is wearing exactly the same dress you wear at a diner? That's my phobia!

From how I look at this, this looks like a blouse to me. But because I might not have the model-material height (blame it to the ancestors), this could already be a dress to me. Although it might not be too appropriate to wear it as a dress because of the guipure in the lower frontal, it would probably show off your red polka dot bikini (Kidding!!), I decided to wear a chiffon skirt underneath so it will look like a dress with a chiffon hem. I love the entirety of this look how it showcases everything on one piece (pearls, studs, a touch of sheer and a little of guipure on light colored canvas linen). And to finish up the look, a pair of silver low-heeled sandals definitely nailed it!

What do you think? Please leave your comments and/or suggestions in the comment box below.

The work of my hands

I have quite a wierd yet impressively unique taste when it comes to fashion.
I browse on blogs from around the world to gather more fashion discoveries that just saturate my obssession. I found this odd and unseemingly accessory, yet smart and attractive. A flowerpot bag? (No kidding?!!!) That's something very out of the ordinary!
Since then, I have been dying to own one the first time I laid eyes on it. I can't seem to find one in my area and online shops do not include shipping in this location. Too bad for me. Instead of exhausting myself looking everywhere only to own this extravaganza (and just a little favor for myself just to help me get thru the sleepless nights), a little art-attack will do. I never thought resourcefulness taught in junior scout would play a great part. The bag was an ice cream plastic container. I know that white carnation doesn't complement much of the neutral color to the bag's skin but that was the only flower available in the living room (shhhhh, mother wont notice). I would still opt for a pink flower when i get the chance to go to the mall.

Not exactly the same to the original but the idea is there. I opted for a smaller one to avoid bulk during commutes. But just look at that, just the right size to fit my to-go things in.
And not to mention, I spent so little on this project.
Check out below the original masterpiece.

I'm no coast guard.

I love going to the beach, I love the feeling the soft sand on my feet, drowning in the cool waters and the taste and smell of the salty breeze. I am also fond collecting shells and coral stones. Well I just had a nice love affair with the beach somehow but below is a different story.
I decided I'd pull off a nautical inspired look.
What makes this shirt so unique is the perforated design all over it. I have never seen anything like it before. I love how the holes are just the right distance from each other making it look like a lace from afar. And that fading carbon drawing of the anchor, it makes it look vintage adding more sophistication to the look. Those sky-blue stripes in the background that are just the right shade to complement the dark print and those little copper stars below the shoulders perfectly matching with the rustic anchor on my black pearl bracelet. To finish up the look and to add a little bit playfulness to this Seawoman look, a royal blue studded sling bag and a pair of tri-colored flats will do. Ay, ay Captain!

the first denim trousers were made in Genoa, Italy (GĂȘnes).
however, denim initially gained popularity in 1873 when, Jacob Davis, a tailor from Nevada, manufactured the first pair of “rivet-reinforced” denim pants. His concept for making reinforced jeans was inspired when a lady customer requested a pair of durable and strong pants for her husband to chop wood. Davis was overwhelmed with the demand of denim jeans. He soon sold 200 pairs to workers in need of heavy work clothing and the demand came out hand that Davis made a deal with Levi Strauss and Co. (manufacturer of denim linen) to patent his copyright to manufature denim jeans thus, in large quantities.
Basically, denim pertains to masculinity but in the 60s, old denim jeans were recycled into long denim skirts, by opening the inseams, and inserting pieces of triangular denim (or any other fabric) in the front.
Nowadays, denim had been massively worn unisexually in any form of classification, jeans for men and women, jackets, skirts, so on and so forth.. But to obtain a more feminine look on denim, Ray Cassini, an italian designer tailored a denim dress adding it with a touch of lace ...because reflecting to what mayo says, lace for one good reason it enlivens an otherwise slightly boring black, plain & other grumpy colors.

Constant Change

For this past week, i have been so excessively obbessed (literally rendundated) like going all-crazy for lace, knits, canvas and pearls. i cant get myself to sleep at nights (and in rare times when i could get so exhausted, id fall asleep and dream about these things). I had hardly waited for the week to end (even if it was just a tuesday when this whole obbssession thing begun) to hunt down to feed my new obbsession. last week and for so long ago i remember, i was getting out of interest dressing myself up just because (when i say "just because" i mean for 1 reason only) my body is inflating day by day that my favorite clothes (sigh) couldnt fit on me. So for quite some time now, i settle pulling off into slouchy clothes like oversized tees, baggy dresses and almost-everything-black so to disguise my inflating body. but you see, the only constant thing in this world is " change ".

finally, the weekend has come and i can conquer the world!
i just got from my fave thrift shop downtown and i can barely wait to show you a preview of my new finds. dont be surprised, most of them are so classic and old-fashioned. thats actually a literal definition of me. Just like i have always said, i am a vintage-kind of person. however, as modern world we live in, we must blend in but not too hard though you might just camouflage with the others.
be different, coz to what i always believe in, normal is boring.
so i opt mixing vintage with modern fashion (thats just a teaser :-P)..i cant wait to be posting outfit ideas of these new ones i got. check out the preview below...heee yaaa!!

Yours truly...
